Corrective Bodywork
For pain relief, alignment & improved mobility
Each session is shaped by what your body needs in that moment—drawing from a blend of manual therapy, movement assessment, and nervous-system work. I don’t follow a preset routine or isolate one technique; instead, I weave these modalities together to release tension, restriction, and retrain the compensation patterns that drive pain and imbalance.
Some of the approaches I draw from are described below. They’re less a list of services and more a toolkit.
-
NKT identifies and corrects dysfunctional movement patterns. Through muscle testing, we can pinpoint which muscles are overworking and which have gone offline—often due to old injuries, habitual movement patterns, scars, or even tattoos. By rebalancing these neural connections, movement becomes more efficient and pain-free. You’ll leave knowing exactly which exercises help keep the new pattern integrated.
Effective for: Chronic pain • Injury rehab • Scar tissue release • Athletic performance • Core stability • Balance

Visceral Manipulation is a gentle technique that works with the body’s internal organs and their connective tissues. When an organ loses its natural mobility, often after illness, injury, surgery, or emotional stress, it can create tension patterns that pull on the rest of the body. Through subtle, hands-on listening and release, this work restores the body’s internal motion, improving digestion, breathing, and overall balance/core stability.
Effective for: Digestive issues • Post-surgical adhesions • Scar tissue • Pelvic or abdominal pain • Low-back discomfort • Breathing restrictions
-
CranioSacral Therapy is a gentle, deeply relaxing technique that works with the head, spine, and central nervous system. Developed by osteopath Dr. John Upledger, this approach helps release restrictions within the skull and spinal membranes, easing tension and improving the flow of cerebrospinal fluid. It’s particularly effective for pain rooted in the nervous system and for conditions tied to chronic stress or trauma.
Effective for: Headaches/migraines • Head trauma/concussion • PTSD • Autoimmune issues • Chronic fatigue • Fibromyalgia • Chronic stress • Spinal cord surgery • Bulging or slipped disc • Sciatica • TMJ • Scoliosis • Neck & back pain

A gentle style of bodywork I developed to help clients with chronic foot pain and tight forearms, Uncoiling Massage has evolved to include the respiratory muscles as well. Using light pressure through clothing, I unwind the fascia and muscles surrounding the bones of the feet, legs, arms, hands and ribs to release deep layers of tension.
Effective for: Foot pain • Plantar fasciitis • Bunions • Sciatica • Piriformis syndrome • Carpal tunnel symptoms • Scroll thumb • Tennis or golfer’s elbow • Neck or face tension • Peripheral neuropathy • Knee & ankle pain • Chronic stress • Restricted breathing • Allergies

Traditional static stretching often fails to create lasting flexibility because it doesn’t train the body to contract and release within a full range of motion. Ki Hara uses active resistance—stretching while the muscle also works, to build both flexibility and strength. Working one-on-one, I guide your body through forgotten ranges of motion as you gently resist, retraining the tissues to lengthen and recoil safely. It feels like a blend of stretching and massage—similar to Thai massage, but active and deeply restorative.
Effective for: Overall flexibility • Back pain • Sciatica • Plantar fasciitis • Tendonitis • Rotator cuff issues • Knee pain • Injury prevention

Thai “Mashiatsu” combines the principles of Thai massage with Japanese Ashiatsu—bodywork performed with the feet. Done fully clothed on a sturdy table or mat, it allows for deep, broad compression without the sharp discomfort of elbows or thumbs.
I often pair Mashiatsu with Ki Hara stretching for a complete release-and-restore session, though it can also stand alone. It’s ideal for anyone who prefers clothed bodywork or struggles to relax during traditional massage.
Effective for: Sciatica • Hip & knee pain (including post-surgery) • Hamstring tightness • Lower-body tension • Active recovery for runners or athletes

We all accumulate emotional residue from past experiences. Over time, this “emotional baggage” can weigh on the body and mind, contributing to fatigue, pain, and disconnection. Using gentle muscle testing—similar in principle to how a polygraph detects subtle shifts—we identify and release trapped emotions that no longer serve you. The process is fast, non-invasive, and surprisingly freeing.
Helps with: Chronic pain • Chronic fatigue • Anxiety • Depression • Emotional overwhelm
